Let’s talk about something spicy and silicon-based: Artificial Intelligence. 🧠💻
AI is powerful. No doubt about it. But here’s the kicker — power without principles? That’s just a futuristic recipe for disaster. Like giving your teenager the car keys and your credit card. At the same time.
So today, I want to have a quick but meaningful chat about how to use AI with ethics, morals, and values — and why that’s absolutely non-negotiable. Whether you’re writing a blog, designing a course, or just asking ChatGPT what’s for dinner (don’t lie, you’ve done it), these are the principles that matter.
1. Respect Privacy Like It’s Your Wi-Fi Password
You wouldn’t shout your banking PIN across a café, right? So please — don’t feed AI sensitive info about others without their permission. Data isn’t just numbers. It’s someone’s life, their story, their trust.
We are the gatekeepers here, folks. Lock it down.
2. Be Fair, Be Unbiased (Even If AI Isn’t)
AI reflects the data it’s trained on — and guess what? That data can be biased. Just because the bot said it doesn’t mean it’s gospel. If something feels off, question it.
I literally argue with ChatGPT like it’s one of my kids:
“Really? That’s your answer?”
“Yes, Mum.”
“Well, I’m not buying it.”
3. Be Transparent — Because Secrets Are for Diaries
If you’re using AI to write, design, or make decisions, let people know. Toss in a little disclaimer:
“Hey, 90% of this is me, 10% is ChatGPT helping me not stare at a blinking cursor for 3 hours.”
People appreciate honesty. And it builds trust, which — let’s face it — is in short supply on the internet.
4. Use AI to Enhance, Not Erase, Humanity
AI should make us smarter, not replace what makes us magical: creativity, empathy, and judgment (and coffee-fueled inspiration at 2 a.m.).
Use it to boost your brilliance, not mute your voice.
5. Align With Your Values — Every Time
Ask yourself, “Does using AI like this help people, or just boost profit?”
If it doesn’t feel right in your gut, it probably isn’t. Your values are the compass. AI doesn’t even have a map.
Here’s the bottom line: AI is a tool. It has no conscience. That job belongs to us — the human beings, with our wild hearts and moral compasses and questionable texting habits.
So let’s use this powerful tech with integrity. Let’s lead with values. Let’s make sure we’re still the ones steering this ship (even if AI occasionally helps us navigate around a creative iceberg).
And hey — if you’re wondering, “How did I even work 15 years ago without ChatGPT?”… same. Honestly, SAME.
See you next post — or over on my YouTube channel if you’re in the mood to hear me ramble with hand gestures. 😉
