Finding Moments of Connection with My Mom
Growing up, my mom and I were never what you’d call best friends. We’ve always had our differences—different opinions, different ways of doing things, and at times, different priorities. Yet, life has a way of teaching us to pause, to reflect, and to find beauty in the bonds that we may have overlooked.
Since my dad’s passing, I’ve felt a shift in how I see my mom and our relationship. Losing someone so central to your life creates a kind of silence that’s hard to explain, but in that silence, there’s also room for something new to grow.
